Central Michigan University introduced Arielle Wilson as its new head volleyball coach on Tuesday evening. Wilson, a Midwest native, had a remarkable playing career at Penn State, where she won four national championships and earned All-Big Ten first-team honors. She was also named an All-American three times during her college career.
This will be Wilson’s first head coaching role, though she brings extensive experience as an assistant. Over the past nine years, she worked in various assistant coaching positions, most recently as the defensive and recruiting coordinator at the University of Missouri.
Wilson expressed her excitement for the opportunity, especially because it’s close to her roots. “In the Midwest, you get the best volleyball in the world, at least some of it. The South also has great talent, and I want to bring some of that up here. I’m excited to help these young women grow and am looking forward to the future of CMU volleyball,” Wilson said.
