Soon Huat-Shevon Advance to Indian Open Second Round

Mixed doubles shuttlers Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Lai Jemie secured their spot in the second round of the Indian Open after defeating Indonesia’s Rinov Rivaldy and Lisa Ayu. The world No. 4 pair triumphed with a 21-17, 21-17 victory in 36 minutes at the KD Jadhav Indoor Stadium in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Soon Huat and Shevon will now face Japan’s Yuta Watanabe, a two-time Olympic bronze medallist, and his new partner Maya Taguchi in the next round. Watanabe and Taguchi advanced by beating Malaysia’s Wong Tien Ci and Lim Chiew Sien 21-17, 21-15.
