The Las Vegas Raiders are actively pursuing candidates for their vacant general manager position, having requested interviews with John Spytek of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jon-Eric Sullivan of the Green Bay Packers. This move comes as the Raiders look to revamp their leadership following a disappointing season.
John Spytek is currently in his second year as the assistant general manager for the Buccaneers, where he has spent a total of nine seasons. Under his tenure, Tampa Bay has enjoyed considerable success, winning the NFC South title for four consecutive years before their playoff run ended with a loss to the Washington Commanders on Sunday. Meanwhile, Jon-Eric Sullivan has served as the vice president of player personnel for the Packers for the past three seasons, contributing to a team that has reached the playoffs five times in seven years, although they were eliminated by the Philadelphia Eagles in their latest outing.
In addition to searching for a new general manager, the Raiders are also on the lookout for a head coach following the dismissal of Antonio Pierce, who led the team to a 4-13 record this past season. The organization has already requested or conducted interviews with several notable candidates, including former Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, Detroit Lions coordinators Aaron Glenn and Ben Johnson, as well as Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph and Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken. Other candidates under consideration include former New York Jets coach Robert Saleh and Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.
