Purdue Rallies Past Washington 69-58

Trey Kaufman-Renn delivered a standout performance with 19 points, leading No. 17 Purdue to a 69-58 victory over Washington on Wednesday night. The Boilermakers, now 14-4 overall and 6-1 in Big Ten play, faced a challenging first half, trailing by as much as 10 points before heading into halftime down by eight.

The turning point for Purdue came at the start of the second half, where they launched an impressive 11-2 run, quickly regaining the lead. Kaufman-Renn, who has been averaging 17.5 points per game this season, was instrumental in the comeback, scoring 13 of his points after the break. Alongside him, Braden Smith contributed 17 points, six rebounds, five assists, and five steals, while Caleb Furst and Fletcher Loyer added 15 and 12 points, respectively. Purdue dominated the paint, outscoring the Huskies 40-22 and showcasing their offensive depth.

Washington, now 10-8 and 1-6 in conference play, struggled to maintain momentum, suffering their third consecutive loss and committing a season-high 17 turnovers. Great Osobor was the standout player for the Huskies, scoring 28 points on an impressive 8-of-9 shooting, including a perfect 5-for-5 from three-point range, while also grabbing nine rebounds. The key moment of the game came when Purdue executed a decisive 13-0 run, turning a 36-35 deficit into a commanding 48-36 lead with just over ten minutes remaining. As Purdue prepares to face No. 13 Oregon on Saturday, Washington will look to regroup as they visit the Ducks on Tuesday.
