Indian shuttlers Bhagrav Ram Agreila and Viswa Tej Gobburu have made history by becoming the first Indian doubles pair to achieve the No. 1 ranking in the BWF World Junior Rankings. The duo, with 15,075 points, are jointly ranked at the top in the latest rankings released by the Badminton World Federation (BWF).
Their rise to the top follows a series of impressive performances. The pair began 2025 with a strong showing at the Estonian International 2025, where they finished as runners-up after a hard-fought final. They were defeated by Chua Yue Chern and Koon Fung Kelvin in three games (16-21, 21-14, 11-21). Earlier, they triumphed at the India Junior International Grand Prix 2024, where they beat fellow Indian pair Bhavya Chhabra and Arsh Mohammad (21-13, 21-18).
Chhabra and Mohammad are also among the top 10 in the men’s doubles rankings, with Chhabra in seventh and Mohammad in ninth. Bhagrav Ram is ranked fifth in the top 10 for mixed doubles, accumulating 13,365 points. In the men’s singles rankings, Sai Prasad and Rounak Chouhan hold the sixth and seventh positions, respectively.
In women’s singles, four Indian players have secured spots in the top 10. Tanvi Sharma leads the pack, ranked No. 4, followed by Naishaa Kaur at No. 6, Prakriti Bharath at No. 8, and Anmol Kharb at No. 9.
