For the first time in program history, LMU Beach Volleyball has reached the No. 2 spot in the AVCA National Poll. The Lions have had an impressive start to the season, defeating top-ranked teams such as #1 USC, #2 TCU, #5 Stanford, #11 Arizona State, and #12 Hawaii. Their only loss was to the current No. 1 team, UCLA.
LMU made the biggest leap in this week’s poll, moving up five spots from their preseason ranking. This marks the largest positive change of any team in the Week 2 Poll.
Previously, LMU’s highest ranking was third, which they achieved at the end of the 2021 season after a strong NCAA Tournament showing.
Looking ahead, LMU will make its home debut with games at the on-campus courts on Friday, February 28, and Saturday, March 1. Matches will take place at 10 AM and 2 PM both days. This weekend’s schedule includes nationally ranked opponents: #16 Washington on Friday and #6 Cal Poly on Saturday.
