After a three-match road trip, the North Florida women’s tennis team is back in Jacksonville for its Atlantic Sun Conference opener. The Ospreys will host Bellarmine on Tuesday, March 4, at 10 a.m. at the UNF Tennis Complex.
UNF has been in strong form recently, winning three of its last five matches. The team secured victories over UAB, USF, and North Texas, with only one of those wins coming at home. Now, the Ospreys are preparing for an important stretch of home matches.
Over the next six contests from March 4 to March 23, UNF will play five matches at home. This includes three consecutive home matchups and two against conference opponents. Following the Bellarmine match, all four home events will be part of a doubleheader alongside the Osprey men’s tennis team.
Freshman Gabby Goyins has made a strong impact, earning a 4-2 record in singles while competing on courts five and six. In doubles, the teams of Anslee Long and Laurie Barendse, as well as Nicole Alfaro Solis and Isabel Oliveira, have each secured four wins in non-conference play.
North Florida, a dominant force in the ASUN, has won 10 ASUN Tournament titles and seven ASUN Regular Season championships. The Ospreys were predicted to finish second in the 2025 ASUN Preseason Poll. Head coach Catherine Dunagan, a two-time ASUN Coach of the Year, is in her sixth season leading the team. Under her guidance, the Ospreys have won three regular-season titles, two tournament championships, and recorded an NCAA Tournament win. She has also coached players to NCAA Tournament Singles and Doubles appearances.
Next, UNF will host Presbyterian in a non-conference matchup at the UNF Tennis Complex on Tuesday, March 11, at 11 a.m.
