Augustana senior Gabriela Jancikova has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Tennis Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Jancikova, a native of Sosuvka, Czech Republic, delivered a flawless performance over the past week, going undefeated in both singles and doubles competition. Playing from the No. 4 singles spot, she secured two victories, helping Augustana earn wins against Newman (5-2) and Rockhurst (6-1).
Against Newman, Jancikova battled to a 6-4, 6-3 win over Mariana Jimenez. She then teamed up with Chelsea Seidewitz in the No. 2 doubles match to claim a 6-3 victory.
She continued her strong form against Rockhurst, dominating Marina Magai 6-2, 6-1 in singles play. Once again, she partnered with Seidewitz in doubles, securing a 6-4 win.
Jancikova’s efforts played a key role in Augustana’s successful week, reinforcing her status as one of the conference’s top players.
