The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) played a key role at the Soccerex MENA event in Cairo, held from February 23-26, 2025. CAF representatives participated in major panel discussions focused on the development and global standing of African football.
CAF contributed to three significant panels: CAF’s Critical Role in the Rise and Development of African Football, The Pinnacle of Football in Africa, and Forging Meaningful Relationships: Unlocking Sponsorship Opportunities in the MENA Region.
Representing CAF at the event were Commercial Director Hassan Elkamah, Member Associations Director Sarah Makuna, Marketing Head Herve Dassoundo, Head of Digital Sherif Hassan, and Sponsorship and Operations Manager Marianne Dimitry.
During these discussions, CAF officials highlighted the organization’s efforts to elevate African football, emphasizing initiatives that have improved competitiveness on the global stage. They also addressed the growing importance of strategic partnerships in the MENA region and explored sponsorship opportunities to support football development.
Another key topic was the role of digital innovation in enhancing fan engagement and promoting African clubs. Experts stressed the importance of leveraging technology to expand football’s reach and improve the overall experience for supporters.
Collaboration between clubs, sponsors, and governing bodies was identified as a crucial factor in driving sustainable growth. Additionally, panelists emphasized the need for continuous education and training programs to develop both on-field talent and management professionals within the industry.
By participating in Soccerex MENA 2025, CAF reaffirmed its commitment to shaping the future of African football and strengthening its presence on the international stage.
