Fordham University junior Nevena Kolarevic has been named Atlantic 10 Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for her outstanding performances in matches played from February 27 to March 2, the conference announced today.
Kolarevic had a flawless week, going 2-0 in both singles and doubles while playing at the No. 1 position for Fordham. She began her weekend with a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Cenan Liu of George Mason, helping the Rams secure a 4-0 team win. In doubles, she teamed up with Julianne Nguyen to defeat Liu and Lauren Splett, 6-2.
In Fordham’s next match, Kolarevic continued her dominance with a 6-2, 6-1 singles win against Victoria Sasinka of George Washington in another 4-0 team victory. She and Nguyen also excelled in doubles, defeating Vaida Matuseviciute and Karen Verduzco, 6-1.
Next, the Rams will travel to Providence, R.I., to face Brown University on Saturday, March 8, at 1:00 PM at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
