Burnley Ends Clean Sheet Streak, Wins 2-1 at Cardiff

Burnley’s impressive run of 12 consecutive clean sheets in the Championship came to an end on Tuesday night, but they secured a crucial 2-1 win at Cardiff to keep their promotion hopes alive. The Clarets had not conceded in 1,132 minutes of league play until Yousef Salech’s header in the 42nd minute. However, by the time Salech scored, Burnley had already taken control with early goals from Josh Brownhill and Maxime Estève. The victory moves Burnley to within two points of second-place Sheffield United.

Hull City defeated Plymouth 2-0 at home, securing their first home win of the year. Joe Gelhardt, on loan from Leeds, broke the deadlock by scoring on a rebound. Abu Kamara sealed the win with a well-executed goal. The result lifted Hull to 19th place, while Plymouth’s winless away streak stretched to 18 matches.

Bristol City also ended their winless run with a 2-0 victory at Millwall. Zak Vyner and Harry Cornick scored to give City their first away win in 10 attempts, bringing them level on points with sixth-placed West Brom. In League Two, leaders Walsall were held to a 1-1 draw at bottom-side Carlisle, allowing Bradford to close the gap to just two points. Walsall had taken the lead early through Taylor Allen, but Aaron Hayden equalized for Carlisle. Bradford won 3-0 at home to Cheltenham, with George Lapslie and Michael Mellon scoring. Doncaster, in third, suffered a 1-0 loss to Bromley, while Notts County and AFC Wimbledon were beaten 2-1 and 1-0 by Barrow and Morecambe, respectively. Morecambe’s win moved them within one point of safety.
