Football South Australia has announced the inclusion of Angle Vale Soccer Club in the expanded 2026 State League 2 competition, following the club’s successful submission of an expression of interest. This marks a significant step for the club, showcasing its growth in both player participation and on-field performance.
A thorough evaluation of the club’s application highlighted its rapid development, driven by the hard work and dedication of its players, coaching staff, and volunteers. The inclusion is a testament to their ongoing commitment to the sport and community.
In 2026, Angle Vale SC will join Barossa United and Plympton Bulldogs in the expanded competition, which already features Adelaide Atletico SC, Adelaide Titans FC, Elizabeth Grove SC, Ghan Football Club, and Salisbury Inter SC. Football SA’s long-term strategy aims to further expand the league into 12-team North and South conferences, enhancing competitive opportunities and raising the standard of football across South Australia.
Jareth Stocker, President of Angle Vale SC, expressed the club’s excitement for the upcoming transition:
“The Angle Vale Foxes are thrilled to take the next step into Football South Australia’s premier competitions in 2026. Over the past five years, we’ve experienced incredible growth, and the new committee, including myself, will continue to build on that success, aiming to move up through the divisions in the state’s top competitions.”
Stocker also highlighted the importance of providing a clear development pathway for players. “This transition will provide a full pathway—from grassroots to social juniors, YCC competition, and all the way through to State League Seniors. It gives our community one club to support football talent at every stage in Angle Vale.”
With Angle Vale’s rapid expansion, the club aims to offer the highest level of competition to its players and build the Foxes brand. Looking ahead to 2026, the club is focused on recruitment and early planning to ensure a successful transition into the State League 2.
