Billionaire Mohamed Bouzoubaa’s Investment to Transform Maghreb de Fes Football Club

Maghreb de Fes (MAS), one of Morocco’s most historic football clubs, is on the verge of a major transformation following the purchase of a significant stake by billionaire Mohamed Bouzoubaa, a prominent construction magnate. Bouzoubaa, the founder of the TGCC Group, is set to take MAS to new heights with his substantial investment and vision for the club’s future.

Bouzoubaa, one of Morocco’s top five wealthiest individuals with an estimated net worth of $1.3 billion, has earned his fortune by overseeing large-scale construction projects across Morocco and Africa. His company, TGCC, is also playing a key role in the development of stadiums for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, as well as for the 2030 World Cup co-hosted by Morocco, Spain, and Portugal.

The new deal will see Bouzoubaa acquire a 30% stake in the club, while the remaining shares will be held by Ismail El Jamai (35%) and the MAS Association (35%).

This injection of financial power is expected to have a transformative effect on MAS, positioning the club as a potential force in Moroccan football. The additional funding will allow for the recruitment of top-tier players, the improvement of training facilities, and a serious challenge for domestic titles alongside powerhouses like Wydad, Raja, and AS FAR.

In another sign of the club’s revitalization, MAS has secured a new sponsorship deal with Daiko, a leading home appliance brand. Mohamed Dairy, Daiko’s managing director, expressed his excitement over the partnership, emphasizing its goal of fostering a strong community around MAS and providing unforgettable experiences for the club’s fans.

On the coaching front, MAS has appointed Croatian-German coach Tomislav Stipic to lead the team. Stipic, who has previously managed clubs in Bulgaria, Latvia, Croatia, Switzerland, and Germany, brings valuable experience, having won two titles in Latvia with Riga FC and FK Auda.

The combination of new leadership, financial backing, and strategic planning has MAS poised for an exciting future.
