Drew Davis Joins University of Evansville Volleyball Program as Assistant Coach

The University of Evansville has announced the hiring of Drew Davis as the new Assistant Coach for its volleyball team. Davis brings extensive coaching experience from his time at UTSA, North Dakota State, and Creighton.

Throughout his career, Davis has helped develop several standout players, including seven 1st Team All-Conference honorees, two 1st Team Academic All-Americans, four All-Freshman Team selections, a Freshman of the Year, two Setters of the Year, three AVCA All-North Region players, and 12 CSC All-District student-athletes.

“Evansville Volleyball got better when Drew Davis decided to join the Aces family,” said Head Coach Zach Weinberg. “His recruiting experience and training style will immediately benefit our team, especially in the areas of blocking and defense. Drew’s energy and enthusiasm make him a perfect fit for UE Volleyball, and we’re thrilled to have him on board.”

Davis most recently served as the 1st Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at UTSA. He was responsible for managing all aspects of recruiting, including scouting, outreach, and evaluating potential recruits. He also focused on improving the team’s serve receive, defense, and blocking. Davis was known for analyzing game footage to provide valuable feedback to the coaching staff.

I’m excited to work alongside Zach and Jordan to elevate Evansville Volleyball to new heights in the Missouri Valley Conference and beyond.”

Before his time at UTSA, Davis spent six years as the Recruiting Coordinator and Assistant Coach at North Dakota State. There, he managed recruiting activities and played a key role in the team’s success, including their 2022 postseason appearance in the NIVC.

Davis started his coaching career at Creighton, where he served as the Social Media Coordinator and Volunteer Assistant Coach. He oversaw the team’s social media platforms and assisted with practice planning, drills, and recruiting.

A graduate of Limestone University in 2017, Davis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education with a Minor in Coaching. He was named to the Presidential Honor Roll and the Conference Carolinas Academic Honor Roll during his time as a student-athlete. He also served as the Team Captain for Limestone’s men’s volleyball team, which was ranked as high as 9th in the nation.
