The Football Federation Samoa (FFS) has announced Faumuina Margaret Crichton as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), marking a fresh chapter for Samoan football.
Faumuina, also known as Polly, brings over 15 years of experience in sports administration. She has a background in both the private sector and the Samoan government. As a former national representative in football and hockey, she has strong ties to the local sports community. Faumuina is now ready to guide the Federation’s strategic direction and promote football development at every level.
“As a former footballer, I spent many years watching from the UK, wishing I could help develop the next generation of players in Samoa,” Faumuina shared. “Now that I’m back, I’m committed to working with the Board, clubs, players, and communities to create a stronger and more successful future for football in Samoa.”
FFS President Sam Petaia expressed excitement about Faumuina’s appointment, praising her leadership, vision, and passion.
“Her experience as a former National Rep, along with her expertise in both the public and private sectors, will play a key role in advancing football in Samoa,” Petaia said.
Faumuina assumes the role at a critical time for the Federation, which is focused on infrastructure projects, player development, and managing national teams. With Samoa preparing for its first-ever FIFA World Cup event, the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, her leadership will be crucial to the Federation’s ongoing success.
