LSU Dominates North Dakota State 13-3 in Seven Innings

The North Dakota State baseball team suffered a 13-3 loss in seven innings to No. 2 LSU on Wednesday night at Alex Box Stadium in front of a crowd of 10,446 fans.

LSU (13-1) took control early, scoring seven runs on six hits in the first inning, including a two-run single from Derek Curiel. In the second inning, Davis Hamilton scored for NDSU on a wild pitch, but LSU continued its offensive assault, adding four more runs in the third inning. A three-run homer from Jared Jones increased LSU’s lead to 11-1. The Tigers sealed the win in seven innings, 13-3.

North Dakota State (1-11) registered four hits, with Hamilton contributing one hit and two runs. Garrett Shupe (0-1) made his collegiate debut on the mound, while Leland Wilson finished with two strikeouts in 2.0 innings of relief.

NDSU will look to bounce back as they begin a three-game series at Tulane on Friday, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
