China’s Chen Yufei narrowly defeated American Zhang Beiwen to reach the women’s singles final at the Orleans Masters in Orleans, France, on Saturday.
Chen faced a tough first game, committing several unforced errors and losing 21-15, despite a strong push toward the end. However, she made key adjustments in the next two games, using her strength in net play and aggressive tactics to overpower Zhang. Chen came back strong, winning 21-13 and 21-12 in the following games to secure her place in the final.
She will now face South Korea’s An Se-young, who also triumphed in a tough three-game semifinal against Gao Fangjie to book her spot in the final.
In the men’s doubles, the Chinese pair of Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang advanced to the final after a dominant performance against Malaysia’s Arif Abdul Latif and Ye Ruiqing. The Chinese duo won in just 26 minutes, with scores of 21-14 and 21-13. They will take on the South Korean team of Kang Min-hyuk and Ki Dong-ju in the final.
