Ithaca Men’s Tennis Edges Connecticut College 4-3 in Spring Break Opener

The Ithaca College men’s tennis team kicked off its spring break trip with a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Connecticut College on Tuesday in Orlando, Florida. Originally scheduled for Monday, the match was postponed due to rain and played at the USTA National Campus.

The Bombers claimed the doubles point by winning two of three matches. At No. 1 doubles, Siddharth Desai and Gijs Fidler secured a 6-4 victory over Nikhil Agarwal and Arjun Premkumar. Meanwhile, Ean Lantzy and Luis Crespo clinched the point for Ithaca with a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles against Krishh Tipnis and Sigmund Winiecki.

In singles play, the competition remained tight. Fidler battled through three sets but ultimately fell 2-6, 6-3, 4-6 at No. 1. However, Siddharth Vaada delivered a strong performance, defeating Jules Taylor-Kerman 6-3, 6-2. First-year player Ivan Kisic rallied for a comeback win against Agarwal, claiming victory in three sets (2-6, 6-3, 6-3). The deciding point came at No. 4 singles, where Crespo dominated with a commanding 6-1, 6-1 win.

With the win, the Bombers move forward in their Orlando trip, set to face North Central College on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. and Rhodes College on Thursday at 7 p.m.
