Bison Snap Losing Streak with 4-0 Victory Over Fire

The Bucknell women’s tennis team closed out its Florida trip with a dominant 4-0 win over Southeastern University on Wednesday. The victory ended a two-match losing streak and improved the Bison’s season record to 5-6.

Three Bucknell players—Whitney King, Abigail Platt, and Riley Jennings—contributed to wins in both singles and doubles.

In doubles action, King and Platt secured a 6-2 victory over Southeastern’s Bolivar Garces and Parigi on Court 1. Jennings, alongside partner Caroline Marcus, clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win against Lopez and Marzano on Court 3. The remaining doubles match was left unfinished.

Bucknell carried the momentum into singles, winning three consecutive matches in straight sets to seal the match. King claimed a 6-1, 7-5 victory over Bolivar Garces at No. 1, while Platt handled Neiberline 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2. Jennings wrapped up the win with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph over Marzano at No. 6. The remaining three singles matches were unfinished.

Next, Bucknell will travel to Loretto, Pa., for a road match against Saint Francis on Saturday, March 22, at 10 a.m.
