The Lindenwood baseball team (8-10) suffered a narrow 11-9 defeat against Murray State (10-3) on Wednesday afternoon in Murray, Ky., marking its second consecutive close loss.

Lindenwood started strong, scoring twice in the first inning. Kam Edwards led off with a single and later scored on an RBI double by Filip Sarota. Jake Radosevich followed with a double of his own, driving in Sarota to give the Lions a 2-0 lead.
Murray State quickly responded with four runs in the bottom half of the inning to take a 4-2 advantage. Radosevich hit a solo home run to the opposite field in the third, trimming the deficit to 4-3. Later in the inning, Bryson Arnette launched a homer to center field, tying the game at 4-4.
The Lions regained the lead in the fifth when Evan Funkhouser delivered a clutch two-out RBI single, bringing in Sam Grunberg for a 5-4 edge. However, the Racers responded with three home runs in the bottom of the inning, reclaiming control with a 9-5 lead.
Lindenwood fought back in the seventh, scoring three runs. After two runners reached base, Charlie Isom-McCall tripled, driving in Funkhouser and Arnette. Isom-McCall then scored on a groundout by Edwards, cutting the deficit to 9-8. Murray State added a run in the bottom of the inning to extend its lead to 10-8.
Arnette kept the Lions in the game with an RBI single in the eighth, bringing Lindenwood within one at 10-9. However, the Racers added another insurance run before closing out the game in the ninth for the 11-9 victory.
