The Long Beach City College (LBCC) baseball team extended its winning streak to six games with a hard-fought 7-6 victory over No. 2-ranked Cerritos on Thursday afternoon. The win also secured the series for the Vikings.
LBCC trailed for most of the game before surging ahead 4-3 in the top of the seventh. However, Cerritos quickly regained the lead in the bottom of the inning. The turning point came in the eighth when Aaron Mingo smashed a two-run home run, putting the Vikings ahead 7-6. LBCC held on for the win, sealing another impressive performance.
Mingo also contributed on the mound, pitching three innings and allowing just one hit to help close out the game.
The Vikings’ hot streak continues as they look to build on their momentum in the coming games.
