No. 10 Harvard men’s tennis continued its winning streak with a commanding 7-0 victory over San Diego State on Tuesday. The Crimson extended its unbeaten run to eight matches, improving to 12-3 on the season, while the Aztecs fell to 6-8.
Harvard set the tone early by securing the doubles point with victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. Benjamin Privara and Melchior Delloye dominated Liam Spiers and Paul Janson, 6-2, while Masato Perera and Valdemar Pape sealed the point with a 6-3 win over Eugenio Gonzalez Fitzmaurice and Philipp Bosse. The Crimson’s top-ranked duo, David Lins and Daniel Milavsky, was tied 4-4 in their match when the doubles point was decided.
In singles play, No. 27 Milavsky quickly put Harvard ahead 2-0 with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Bosse at the top spot. Mitchell Lee and Delloye followed with straight-set victories at No. 6 and No. 5, respectively, giving Harvard a 4-0 lead and securing the overall match win.
The Crimson continued its dominant performance, with No. 105 Privara defeating Alexander Mandma 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2. Pape secured a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Gonzalez Fitzmaurice at No. 3, while Rohan Murali capped off the shutout with a 6-1, 7-6(2) win over Mathieu Josserand at No. 4.
This marks Harvard’s third shutout of the season and its second consecutive 7-0 victory after defeating Quinnipiac earlier this month.
