The University of Akron football team has officially started its spring training under third-year head coach Joe Moorhead. The Zips held their first of 15 scheduled practices on Tuesday, March 18, at the Stile Athletics Field House.
The team will continue training every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday throughout the spring. All practices remain closed to the public.
Akron’s annual Spring Game is set for Friday, April 25, offering fans their first look at the team before the 2025 season.
The Zips will open their campaign on Thursday, August 28, with a home game against Wyoming at InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field. They will then hit the road for back-to-back matchups against Nebraska (Saturday, September 6) and UAB (Saturday, September 13). The non-conference schedule concludes with a home game against Duquesne on Saturday, September 20, before Akron begins Mid-American Conference (MAC) play.
