The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) has named its Men’s Volleyball Student-Athletes of the Week for the period covering March 31 to April 7.
Hitter of the Week: Corey Mayotte, Loras (Senior, Geneva, Ill.)
Corey Mayotte was named CCIW Hitter of the Week for the fifth time in 2025. The senior helped lead Loras to two wins over Illinois Wesleyan, totaling 25 kills on 41 attempts. Mayotte only made one error throughout the matches, achieving an impressive .585 hitting percentage. He also contributed with three service aces, six digs, and two blocks.
Setter of the Week: Tyler Donovan, North Central (Graduate Student, Lindenhurst, Ill.)
Tyler Donovan played a key role in North Central’s two victories, earning the #3 seed in the CCIW Championship. The graduate student averaged 11 assists per set, along with 3.57 digs, 1.14 kills, and 0.43 blocks per set in wins over Augustana and North Park.
Defensive Player of the Week: Roman Rothermel, Loras (Sophomore, Menomonee Falls, Wis.)
Roman Rothermel was recognized for his defensive performance in Loras’ victories over Illinois Wesleyan. The sophomore recorded two solo blocks and four block assists in the first win. He followed up with two more solo blocks and an additional assist in a Saturday win over the Titans.
