Niagara Women’s Tennis Falls Just Short Against Fairfield in MAAC Semifinals

The Niagara women’s tennis team came up just short on Saturday, falling 4-3 to the No. 2 seeded Fairfield Stags in the semifinals of the MAAC Championship in West Windsor, New Jersey.

Fairfield started strong by winning the doubles point. The Stags claimed victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles spots. The No. 1 doubles match was not finished after Fairfield secured the point.

In singles play, Niagara fought back. Isabel Garcia, Larisa Kotok, and Saloni Tamang earned wins at the No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 positions, respectively. Maria Melo battled at the No. 1 spot, pushing her match to an extra set. However, she ultimately fell, giving Fairfield the final point needed to win the match.
