Jake Fieszel is stepping down as the head coach of the Gunter Tigers, ending a highly successful 18-year run with the program.
Fieszel built a powerhouse at Gunter, leading the Tigers to five state championships. They won their first title under him in 2016 and claimed another in 2019. The Tigers have been even more dominant recently, winning three straight championships in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
KXII has confirmed that Fieszel has officially submitted his resignation.
In a statement to Texas Football Magazine, Fieszel said he made the decision to step down to focus more on his family.
His departure marks the end of one of the most successful coaching tenures in Texas high school football.
