Fenerbahce Sweeps Paris to Reach EuroLeague Final Four in Overtime Thriller

Fenerbahce Beko punched their ticket to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four with a 98-88 overtime win over Paris Basketball on Tuesday, completing a 3-0 sweep in their best-of-five playoff series.

The match, held at the Adidas Arena in Paris, was a tightly contested battle. Fenerbahce started strong, taking a 23-18 lead in the first quarter and heading into halftime up 46-40. Despite their lead, Paris Basketball fought back, led by Timothy Shorts, who scored a game-high 29 points. A late push by the French side tied the game at 80-80, sending it into overtime.

In the extra period, Tarik Biberovic stepped up for Fenerbahce, scoring key points during a dominant 8-0 run to start overtime. His performance helped seal the win and the series, as the Turkish club held off a determined Paris side.

With this victory, Fenerbahce reaches the EuroLeague Final Four for the seventh time in club history. They previously made five straight Final Four appearances between 2015 and 2019 and won the title in 2017.

The Istanbul-based team will now face the winner of the Panathinaikos vs. Anadolu Efes series in Abu Dhabi, where the Final Four will be held from May 23 to 25 at Mercedes-Benz Arena.

This is also Fenerbahce’s second consecutive Final Four under head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius, who took over in December 2023. The Lithuanian coach now has six Final Four appearances on his résumé, having previously led Barcelona and Zalgiris Kaunas to Europe’s top stage.
