Dominik Szoboszlai has firmly established himself as the face of Hungarian football. At just 24 years old, he captained Hungary to qualification for the 2024 European Championship in Germany, becoming the youngest captain in the tournament’s history.
Szoboszlai’s star rose even higher during the 2024–25 season, playing a vital role in Liverpool’s Premier League title-winning campaign. His performances cemented his status as a key figure in England’s top club.
Born in the small Hungarian town of Székesfehérvár, Szoboszlai began his football journey at the Főnix Gold FC youth academy, which was founded by his father. He made his professional debut in the 2017–2018 season with FC Liefering, the reserve team of Red Bull Salzburg, in Austria’s second division.
Since then, Szoboszlai has played in three different countries and achieved an impressive record: he has won at least one trophy in every season of his professional career. With Red Bull Salzburg, he won the Austrian league title four times (2018–2021) and lifted the Austrian Cup three times (2019–2021). After moving to RB Leipzig, he added two German Cups (2022 and 2023) to his collection.
In England, Szoboszlai continued his winning streak by securing the Carabao Cup with Liverpool and now the Premier League title, marking the highest point of his career so far.
