Football Australia has announced Superloop as its official category partner for the prestigious Hahn Australia Cup, a key event in the country’s football calendar.
This partnership includes a major upgrade to Football Australia’s live broadcast capabilities, with Superloop providing essential connectivity infrastructure for automated (AI) live streaming across Australian football.
Superloop’s involvement aims to boost its brand visibility and engage with fans through its support of the Hahn Australia Cup, which involves over 700 senior community clubs nationwide.
Football Australia CEO James Johnson commented on the partnership: “This collaboration with Superloop marks a significant step in our digital transformation. High-speed, reliable internet is crucial in today’s connected world. Superloop’s expertise will help us deliver a better live streaming experience for fans while also creating new opportunities for the sport.”
Daisy Stampfer, Superloop’s Group Executive for Business & Wholesale, emphasized the impact of the partnership: “We understand the power of connectivity in sports broadcasting. Our high-performance network solutions will help bring Football Australia’s vision of football streaming to life.”
As part of the deal, Superloop will provide the infrastructure for integrating AI camera technology at key Football Australia venues. This will enable automated 4K streaming of matches to platforms like YouTube, OTT services, and others chosen by Football Australia.
One of the first venues to benefit from this partnership will be Darwin Football Stadium, where Superloop will supply dedicated high-speed NBN connectivity. This will enable the automated production of all Men’s and Women’s National Premier Leagues games in the NorthZone competition, bringing efficiencies and cost savings to Football Northern Territory.
The agreement aligns with Football Australia’s plan to centralize the live production and distribution of over 3,500 games annually. This includes state leagues, major national competitions, and the Hahn Australia Cup, promoting a more strategic and responsive approach to live sports broadcasting.
In addition to its core connectivity services, Superloop will offer tailored solutions such as business-grade NBN internet and mobile data services. These solutions will support Football Australia’s plans to automate production and collect real-time match and player statistics, contributing to the creation of a comprehensive historical record of Australian football.
This collaboration marks a significant investment in the future of Australian football, enhancing digital distribution and fan engagement at all levels of the sport.
