The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) met with the Turkish Olympic Committee (TOC) this week in Istanbul to discuss the future of volleyball development in Türkiye, following the country’s successful hosting of the CEV Champions League Volley 2025 Women’s Final Four.
The meeting was hosted at the TOC headquarters and brought together key figures from the Turkish and international volleyball community. TOC President Ahmet Gülüm, a former captain of Türkiye’s men’s national volleyball team, led the discussions alongside TOC Treasurer Mustafa Tankut Turnaoğlu, TOC Board Member Özkan Mutlugil—also a former FIVB Board member—and Turkish Volleyball Federation (TVF) President.
Also present were senior FIVB and Volleyball World officials, including FIVB President Fabio Azevedo, CEV President Roko Sikirić, and other international representatives involved in global volleyball governance and strategy.
The FIVB shared its Strategic Vision 2032—a roadmap that focuses on four pillars: professionalism, integration, empowerment, and mass participation. The initiative reflects the FIVB’s goal of expanding the sport’s global presence and participation under the motto “Together as One.”
Türkiye’s rapid rise in international volleyball, especially in the women’s game, was a key highlight of the meeting. The national women’s team has achieved remarkable success in recent years, while Turkish clubs consistently excel in top-tier competitions. The country’s ability to host world-class events was proven again with the recent CEV Final Four and continues with the upcoming Women’s Volleyball Nations League (VNL) pool, also set in Istanbul.
The FIVB reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with the TOC and TVF to further strengthen volleyball’s footprint in Türkiye and inspire future generations.
