The No. 11-ranked St. Mary’s University Women’s Tennis Team is heading back to the NCAA Division II South Central Regional after missing the tournament last year.
The Rattlers, holding a 17-3 record this season, will make their 11th appearance in the regional. They will host third-seeded Dallas Baptist University (DBU), the Lone Star Conference Tournament champions, on Monday, May 12 at noon. The match will take place at Rohrbach Tennis Stadium.
DBU enters the postseason ranked No. 23 in the nation with a 22-4 record. The Patriots are riding a five-match winning streak.
St. Mary’s has a strong history in the South Central Regional, posting a 9-2 all-time record. This will be the team’s third consecutive time hosting the regional and eighth time overall.
Five of the six Rattlers earned Lone Star All-Conference honors this year. Director of Tennis Bill Macom was named the Lone Star Women’s Coach of the Year.
In another regional match, No. 2 Midwestern State will face No. 20 Lubbock Christian in Wichita Falls.
