The University of Northern Iowa (UNI) men’s basketball team has signed three new players to join the roster for the 2025-26 season. All three are forwards, adding depth and talent to the team.
The new recruits include NAIA First Team All-American Tristan Smith from Elizabeth, Colorado, who played at Concordia University in Nebraska. Also joining are Canadian forward Ismaël Diouf, who most recently played at North Carolina State, and Croatian forward Marino Dubravcic, who played at Baylor University.
These additions will join high school seniors Jalen Wilson from Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Geon Hutchins from Detroit, Michigan. Wilson and Hutchins signed with the Panthers last fall.
“We feel great about the addition of Ismaël, Tristan, and Marino,” said head coach Ben Jacobson. “With 11 players returning, we were able to focus on a few recruits who fit specific needs. We looked for size, versatility, and experience, as well as strong character. These three met—and in some ways exceeded—our expectations during the recruiting process.”
Jacobson added that with Jalen and Geon signed early, this year’s class brings exactly what the team needed to complement its core group of returning players.
