Ousmane Dembele was named the best player in the French league, while PSG manager Luis Enrique won the best coach award at the French Football Awards ceremony held in Paris yesterday.
The event, organized by the National Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP), took place at the Pavillon Gabriel hall. This was the 33rd edition of the UNFP awards, which celebrate the top players and coaches in French football each season.
Dembele, who plays for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), received his award from French national team coach Didier Deschamps. The winger had a remarkable season, helping PSG win the Ligue 1 title and reach the UEFA Champions League final. He scored 33 goals in 46 matches across all competitions, including eight goals in the Champions League.
Luis Enrique was honored as the best coach after leading PSG to both the domestic league title and the Champions League final. His leadership was key to PSG’s success this season.
The award for the best goal went to Amine Gouiri, an Algerian international who plays for Marseille.
