Patama Leeswadtrakul, the new president of the Badminton World Federation (BWF), recently spoke with China’s Xinhua news agency. She praised China’s important role in the growth of badminton worldwide.
“China’s ability to organize badminton events is truly exceptional,” she said. “Each event is managed with great perfection and leaves a lasting impact on players and fans.”
Leeswadtrakul believes that China’s successful model can inspire other regions. “The Chinese model is a valuable source of inspiration. It can be studied and applied carefully when needed,” she explained.
She also emphasized Africa’s potential in badminton. “Africa, in particular, holds great promise. We will keep looking for ways to support its progress,” she said. “This includes sharing knowledge, creating opportunities, and forming partnerships that match each region’s unique needs.”
