The national women’s blind football teams of England, Poland, and Sweden came together for an exciting tournament held at St. George’s Park, the official training center of the English FA. The competition, known as the IBSA Women’s Blind Football Cup, was supported by UEFA as part of its agreement with the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) to promote the growth of the sport in Europe.
England’s Football Association served as the local partner for the event and helped deliver a well-organized and engaging experience for players and fans alike. Spectators enjoyed thrilling matches and a flurry of goals throughout the tournament.
England claimed the championship title with a 2–0 victory over Sweden in the final match. Team captain Lucja Wyrwantowicz led the way, finishing as the tournament’s top scorer.
“We are very happy and proud with all the development of women’s blind football worldwide,” said Fabio Vasconcelos, Chairperson of IBSA Football. “More national federations are getting involved each day, proving that gender equality in sport is becoming a reality, not just a promise.”
