The 2025 NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships begin Tuesday at Sanlando Park, just outside Orlando, Florida. Sixteen of the best men’s and women’s college tennis programs will compete for national titles.
Both defending champions are back at the final site. Valdosta State (men’s) and Nova Southeastern (women’s) will try to repeat their championship runs in what is expected to be one of the most competitive fields in recent years.
Valdosta State enters the men’s tournament as the top seed and has not lost a match all season. The Blazers are packed with talent—several of their players have already committed to Division I schools such as Tennessee and Tulsa for next year.
The South and South Central regions remain dominant in men’s tennis. All four top seeds—Valdosta State (1), Barry (2), UT Tyler (3), and Lubbock Christian (4)—come from these regions, showing just how strong this part of the country continues to be in Division II tennis.
On the women’s side, Barry University returns as the No. 1 seed after losing to conference rival Nova Southeastern in last year’s championship. Barry has been unbeatable this season against Division II opponents and won the 2025 ITA National Team Indoor Championship back in February. They have already claimed victories over many of this year’s top-seeded teams.
Nova Southeastern, ranked second, will be looking to avenge two close losses to Barry earlier this season. Their latest match ended in a tight 4-3 win for Barry. Midwestern State (3) and North Georgia (4) round out the top four women’s seeds. Midwestern State previously lost to Barry 4-0 in the ITA National Indoor final.
With powerful teams and intense rivalries already in place, the stage is set for an exciting week of tennis as the best in NCAA Division II fight for the championship crown.
