The Minot High girls’ tennis team has shown no signs of slowing down, even after graduating four seniors from last season. With only one senior on this year’s varsity roster, the Majettes have kept their winning tradition alive.
They finished the 2025 regular season undefeated, securing their fourth straight Western Dakota Association (WDA) regular season title. The team has now won 66 consecutive regular season duals, a streak that dates back to 2021.
Team members Ava Thuner and Grace Olson reflected on their remarkable run this year.
“It’s been an adventure,” Thuner said. “We came into the season confident. We knew we had a strong lineup, and as the season went on, we just kept playing really well.”
Olson praised the team’s energy and chemistry, especially with so many new faces stepping into key roles.
“It’s been really fun with a new group of kids,” Olson said. “Everyone comes to practice with a great attitude and works hard. It’s made the season really enjoyable.”
As the top seed entering the WDA Tournament, Minot is now chasing its fourth consecutive WDA team championship. But Olson knows the road won’t be easy.
“We know everyone’s coming after us,” she said. “So we need to stay focused and work hard. We’re not going in thinking we’ll automatically win—we’re going in ready to earn it.”
The WDA Tournament runs Thursday through Saturday at the Mandan Tennis Center, where Minot will look to continue its dominance and defend its title.
