Barcelona have rewarded manager Hansi Flick with a contract extension until June 2027 after an impressive first season in charge.
The German coach, who initially signed a two-year deal in May 2024, has guided the club to three major trophies this campaign:
-
La Liga
-
Copa del Rey
-
Spanish Super Cup
Barcelona’s only setback came in the Champions League semi-finals, where they were eliminated by Inter Milan.
In a statement, the club praised Flick’s impact:
“Hansi Flick has made Barça fans happy in his first season—for the belief he has instilled, the epic comebacks, and the trophies. The excitement he has brought has made Barcelona a feared rival in Europe once again.”
A Proven Winner
Flick is no stranger to success. In 2020, he led Bayern Munich to a historic Treble (Bundesliga, German Cup, and Champions League). After a stint as Germany’s national team coach, he was dismissed in September 2023 before taking over at Barcelona following Xavi’s departure.
The club added: “Hansi Flick is creating history at FC Barcelona, and we are sure that will continue in the coming seasons.”
At 60 years old, Flick now has the chance to build a long-term legacy at Camp Nou—with fans hopeful for even more silverware.
