LSU Women’s Tennis freshmen Cadence Brace and Kayla Cross have been named ITA All-Americans, capping off remarkable debut seasons. The honors were announced alongside the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s final singles and doubles rankings.
With these accolades, Brace and Cross become the 16th and 17th All-Americans in LSU program history and the first since 2023.
Brace had a standout season, earning SEC Freshman of the Year and a spot on the All-SEC First Team. She also shared a place on the SEC All-Freshman Team with Cross, who was named to the All-SEC Second Team.
The Canadian duo consistently played in LSU’s top singles and doubles positions. After signing with LSU in August, Brace immediately became the team’s top singles player. She posted a 14-6 record, led the team with 11 ranked wins, and ended her season on a seven-match win streak. Her performance earned her a final ITA singles ranking of No. 8, qualifying her for All-American status.
In doubles, Brace and Cross quickly emerged as one of the nation’s elite pairings. After Cross joined the team in January, the two compiled a 12-4 record in dual play, including nine ranked wins. Their strong season earned them a final ITA doubles ranking of No. 6 and secured their All-American selection as a pair.
The two are LSU’s first doubles All-Americans since 2023, when Anastasiya Komar and Kylie Collins earned a No. 8 seed at the NCAA Individual Championships.
Brace also joins elite company as just the fourth player in LSU history to earn both singles and doubles All-American honors in the same season. She follows in the footsteps of Bruna Colosio (2000), Joana Valle Costa (2017), and Anastasiya Komar (2023).
