Swarthmore Duo Ends Warhawks’ Run in NCAA Doubles Round of 16

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater’s Theo Billson and Reuben Giorgio saw their season come to an end in the Round of 16 at the NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Doubles Championship on May 23.

The tournament match took place at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center in Claremont, California, where the Warhawk pair faced Swarthmore College’s Utham Koduri and Michael Melnikov, ranked sixth nationally by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

Billson and Giorgio, ranked ninth in the ITA doubles rankings, dropped the first set 6–2. They responded by taking the opening game of the second set and kept it competitive throughout. However, the Swarthmore duo maintained the upper hand, closing out the match with a 6–4 win to advance in straight sets.

Despite the loss, Billson and Giorgio capped off a strong season. The ITA All-Americans ended their 2024–25 campaign with a 23–7 overall record.
