Playing under cool conditions in Paris, Gauff dominated the opening set. She broke Alexandrova’s serve three times to take a quick 5-0 lead. With 63% of return points won, she wrapped up the set 6-0 in just 27 minutes. Alexandrova had four chances to break back in the sixth game but couldn’t capitalize, making several forehand errors. Gauff eventually closed the set on her third set point.
