Head coach Bart Brooks welcomed Cambridge to the Bruins, highlighting her leadership and resilience throughout her playing career.
“We are excited to welcome Jordyn to our staff at Belmont,” Brooks said. “She had a standout career as a player at Ensworth and Vanderbilt, and I’ve seen firsthand how she overcame major injury challenges. She’s smart, was a great teammate, and is a natural leader. Most importantly, she’ll be an outstanding mentor and role model for our players.”
Cambridge brings an impressive athletic and academic résumé. A three-time All-SEC Defensive Team selection and two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll honoree, she leaves Vanderbilt as the program’s all-time leader in steals (351). Her 129 steals during the 2021–22 season remain a single-season record for the Commodores.
A Nashville native, Cambridge played six seasons at Vanderbilt, becoming the only player in school history to record more than 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 400 assists, and 300 steals. She finished with 1,037 points and 438 assists—ranking in the school’s top 10 all-time—and was a Naismith Defensive Player of the Year semifinalist in 2023–24.
Following her decorated collegiate career, Cambridge spent the 2024–25 school year at Ensworth School, her high school alma mater, serving as an assistant coach and program coordinator for community engagement and inclusion. There, she worked with student-athletes, handled scouting responsibilities, and organized outreach and educational events.
Before college, Cambridge led Ensworth to a state championship in 2017 and was named MVP of the TSSAA Division II Class AA title game. She was ranked No. 23 nationally in the 2018 ESPN HoopGurlz recruiting rankings and was a three-time All-State selection.
Academically, Cambridge holds three degrees from Vanderbilt University: a B.S. in human and organizational development (2022), a Master of Education in human development studies (2023), and a second M.Ed. in learning diversity and urban studies (2024).
Coming from a family of athletes, five of her eight siblings have played or are playing college basketball, including brothers Jalon, Desmond, and Devan, and sisters Kennedy and Jaloni.
Cambridge joins the Bruins at a historic moment. Belmont recently reached the championship game of the 2025 Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT), marking the program’s deepest postseason run. The team has also won 20 or more games for 10 straight seasons, a feat matched by only eight other schools nationwide.
