Head coach Bill Self expressed excitement about the schedule, calling it one of the toughest non-conference slates in the country. “We have a home game against UConn in early December, road games at North Carolina and NC State, and a neutral-site game against Duke in the Champions Classic at Madison Square Garden,” he said. “Along with the Big 12 competition, this will prepare us for another strong conference season.”

The season will kick off with an exhibition game at Louisville on Oct. 24. Kansas will then host Fort Hays State for another exhibition on Oct. 28. The regular season begins on Nov. 3 with a home game against Green Bay, followed by a road trip to North Carolina on Nov. 7. KU has won the last two meetings between the two schools, including a 92-89 victory at Allen Fieldhouse in November 2023.

Kansas will return home for two games against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Nov. 11) and Princeton (Nov. 15). On Nov. 18, they will face Duke in the Champions Classic at Madison Square Garden, where they’ve won five straight games since 2020.

From Nov. 24-27, the Jayhawks will participate in the Players Era tournament in Las Vegas, with more details about the opponents coming soon.

Kansas will host UConn on Dec. 2 for the second time in three seasons. The two teams have combined to win three of the last four NCAA National Championships, with KU’s title in 2022 and UConn’s in 2023 and 2024.

The Jayhawks will also face Missouri in the Border Showdown on Dec. 7 in Kansas City and visit NC State on Dec. 13 for a return game from last season. Kansas defeated NC State 75-60 at home in December 2024.

The non-conference schedule will wrap up with home games against Towson on Dec. 16 and Davidson on Dec. 22.

Dates and times for the Big 12 conference games will be announced later. The Big 12 Championship is scheduled for March 10-14 at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, with NCAA Tournament Selection Sunday on March 15.

Kansas’ strength of schedule ranked 12th in the nation in 2024-25, marking the 18th time under Bill Self that the team has finished in the top 20 for toughest schedules. In fact, KU has ranked in the top 10 14 times and in the top three 10 times.
