Preseason and Early Matches

Before the regular season begins, the Waves will play two exhibition matches. They host the Blue and Orange Alumni Scrimmage at Firestone Fieldhouse on August 16. On August 23, they travel to USC for a cross-town exhibition.

The regular season begins at the Sacramento State Invitational, where Pepperdine will play UC Davis (Aug. 29), UTEP (Aug. 30), and host Sacramento State (Aug. 31).

The Waves return home on September 2 to face UCLA in their regular-season home opener. Then, they travel to the Pittsburgh Invitational. There, they will play NCAA Final Four contender Pittsburgh on September 5 and Jacksonville State on September 6.

Pepperdine will host Lipscomb in the Asics Classic on September 12 before heading to UC Santa Barbara on September 16. The final week of non-conference play takes place at Arizona State University’s Webb-Burbridge Classic. The Waves face GCU (Sept. 18), Arizona State (Sept. 19), and Milwaukee (Sept. 20). All three teams won 20 or more matches last year.

West Coast Conference Play

Pepperdine will compete in 18 West Coast Conference (WCC) matches this season. The WCC has changed its format and will no longer use a double-round robin schedule. The Waves will play six conference opponents twice, and the rest only once.

The team opens conference play at home against San Diego on September 25 and new WCC member Seattle on September 27. Seattle joins from the Western Athletic Conference.
