Antonsen, 28, defeated Taiwan’s Chou Tien-chen in straight games to win the men’s singles final. He sealed the match 22-20, 21-14 in 60 minutes at the Istora Senayan arena in the Indonesian capital. It marked a major milestone for the Danish player, who had never before won this Super 1000 event.
The first game was closely contested, but Antonsen pulled ahead in the second with a confident and steady performance.
In the women’s singles final, world No. 1 An Se-young came from behind to beat China’s Wang Zhi Yi in three sets. After dropping the first game 13-21, An rallied to win the next two 21-19 and 21-15 in a tough 81-minute battle.
An, who won Olympic gold last year and her first Indonesia Open title in 2021, said she was proud of the victory.
“It was a weird game, a difficult game,” she said through an interpreter. “But fortunately, I found my confidence and never gave up.”
France also made history at the tournament. Mixed doubles pair Thom Gicquel and Delphine Delrue defeated Thailand’s Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supissara Paewsampran 21-16, 21-18 in 48 minutes.
Ranked No. 10 in the world, the French duo earned their country’s first-ever Super 1000 title with the win over the sixth-ranked Thai pair.
