Quinnipiac men’s tennis has once again finished in the top 10 of the ITA New England region, with Daniel Velek securing a spot in the top 20 for the second consecutive season.
Under the leadership of Head Coach Bryan Adinolfi, the Bobcats ended their season with a 12-12 record, claiming their second consecutive MAAC title with an undefeated 8-0 conference record. However, their NCAA Tournament run came to an end in the first round, where they were defeated by No. 23 Clemson. Despite this, Quinnipiac maintained a strong presence in the ITA New England region, finishing eighth last season and remaining in the top 10 again this year.
Velek, who also earned a top-20 ranking for the second year in a row, moved up two spots from No. 20 to No. 18. Playing at the No. 1 singles position for Quinnipiac, Velek posted a 6-2 record in the MAAC and a 10-9 overall record. Over his career, Velek boasts an impressive 12-2 record at No. 1 singles in the MAAC, contributing significantly to the Bobcats’ back-to-back MAAC championships.
